Inspired by a late-night conversation between Sipsmith Founder Sam Galsworthy and Master Distiller Jared Brown, 100 Martini began life as a challenge for Jared to delve into the history books and create a complete compendium of classic Martini recipes.

The results were far more comprehensive than either imagined and the list went on to inspire the first 100 Martini Bar event in 2012; the evening served as the ultimate ode to the Martini - curating 100 classic Martini recipes in the perfect sipping environment of a historic London bar.

100 Martini has since travelled the globe, helping Martini aficionados and newcomers alike to discover the history of the cocktail alongside some long forgotten classic serves.

This downloadable app now gives appreciators of the Martini the opportunity to discover these one hundred recipes in the comfort of their own home, while learning about the veneration, variety and spirited debates the Martini has inspired throughout history.

“Variations are not a new trend, they’re a rediscovery of world individualism. Sipsmith 100 Martini is not about throwing ingredients together to create multiple twists of a modern Martini. This is the ultimate celebration of the classic cocktail – a place to discover and absorb. Nearly every Martini on the menu has its origins in pre-1939 Europe or America, with many first conceived and poured prior to the First World War. An excellent Martini is deep velvet in fiery frost; a stemmed glass of gentility, festivity and epiphanies. You need surgical precision to mix it and the perfect environment to sip it.” – Jared Brown, Sipsmith Master Distiller
